African scholars receive Humboldt Foundation scholarships

Since 2009, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has awarded climate protection scholarships to young scientists from emerging markets or developing countries outside Europe. Never before have so many Africans been among the recipients. Of the 19 scholarship holders in 2017-8, 11 are from Africa, five of them women.
