If you are applying for a new German passport or you need a visa for Germany and the Schengen area, kindly arrange an appointment. Please book a separate appointment for each applicant (also children)!

People who are travelling in a group of 6 or more people should get in touch with the German Embassy in a timely manner in order to arrange for an appointment.

Please note: There could be waiting times for appointments therefore we highly recommend that you plan well ahead according to your schedule in order to hand in your visa applications.

Booking an appointment through our online system is free of charge! It is also possible to have a person of trust booking an appointment for you.

The Visa section of the German Embassy can be contacted by email through the email address info@kampala.diplo.de. Please note that due to data protection regulations, information about a pending visa application can only be given to the applicant himself or an authorised person. Therefore telephone inquiries regarding visa applications should be avoided.

Visa Fees


The fee for a Schengen Visa is 60.00 Euro, payable cash in Uganda Shilling at the current exchange rate of the German Embassy. Reductions of fees as well as exemptions from the visa fee are possible for certain types of visas.

Documents from Third Countries

Certificates or documents issued from a country where legalisation or Apostille is done, must be presented at the point of application in this already legalized or Apostille form. Do contact the respective German Embassy in the country where the documents were issued for further information on this.

Language of Documents

All documents that are not issued in German, French or English, must be presented with an original translation that was done by a recognized translator from Germany.
