Germany and Uganda are committed to achieving the Millennium Development Goals which 190 Heads of States agreed upon in the year 2000 in the Millennium Declaration. Uganda's Poverty Eradication Action Plan (PEAP) is geared towards meeting those objectives. German development cooperation takes into account Uganda's ownership by incorporating its contribution into the PEAP, and we always make great efforts to harmonise our own strategies and procedures and deliver them effectively......

Implementation

All German development cooperation in Uganda is coordinated by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.

German political Foundations

German political Foundations are fully independent from the German government, they are affiliated with a political party in Germany. These autonomous organisations have a mandate to engage in development cooperation in particular to further democratisiation and human rights.

Germany second largest donor, with ODA exceeding 10 billion Euro

On April 4, 2012, the OECD presented preliminary figures on official development assistance (ODA) in 2011. Germany's net ODA exceeded 10 billion Euro for the first time. Germany has become the second largest donor after the United States.
