Visa - short term

Please submit your application for a Schengen Visa to the representative of the country which is your main destination - considering length and purpose of your intended stay. If no such main destination can be ascertained, please contact the representative of the country of your first entry into the Schengen Area.

Visa applicants residing in Uganda are entitled to apply at the German Embassy Kampala for a visa to the Federal Republic of Germany as well as to the Federal Republic of Austria and the Republic of Estonia, as the Embassy represents these two Schengen countries here in Uganda. If you are a legal resident of South Sudan you have to apply at the German Embassy in Kampala for a visa to Germany. Please note that the German Embassy is not the competent authority for South Sudan residents who would like to apply for a visa to Austria or Estonia.

Please make certain to review the visa requirements carefully and adhere to them, as this will save you valuable time and effort throughout the visa application process. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.  The German Embassy reserves the right to ask for further supporting documents / information if needed.

Schengen visa to Austria and Estonia

Visa applicants residing in Uganda have to apply at the German Embassy Kampala for a Schengen visa to Austria and Estonia. The general Schengen visa requirements apply and the procedure complies with the procedure for visa to Germany.

The fee for a Schengen Visa is 60.00 Euro, payable cash in Uganda Shilling at the current exchange rate of the German Embassy. Reductions of fees as well as exemptions from the visa fee are possible for certain types of visas.
